Course description: Work with advanced repertoire together with international choral conductor Josep Vila. Develop and increase your level of conducting and your repertoire knowledge. This Master Class will be held in English. 

Josep Vila i Casañas is a conductor, a composer and a pedagogue with a specialism in a cappella repertoire. He conducts the Lieder Camera Chamber Choir and has served as the resident conductor of the Orfeo Catala Choral Society, the Cor de Cambra of the Palau de la Musica Catalana, the Radiotelevision Espanola Choir and the World Youth Choir.
Choir: Palaestra Vocal Ensemble.

To the application for Course C, Master Class, you must attach a brief CV and a digital link to a film that shows when you conduct a choir. The film should be 3 - 6 minutes long, show your direction from the front or from the side and maintain good sound quality. Selection for Course C is mainly based on the conducting skills shown in the film.

Josep Vila i Casañas is a conductor, a composer and a pedagogue. His specialism is the a cappella repertoire, as well as choral and orchestral literature down the ages. He conducts the Lieder Càmera Chamber Choir from Sabadell and collaborates with the Francesc Valls Chamber Choir, a professional vocal ensemble engaged to the Sagrada Família church and to Barcelona’s Cathedral.  He has served as the resident conductor of the Orfeó Català choral society (1998-2016), the Cor de Cambra of the Palau de la Música Catalana (2011-2016) and the Radiotelevisión Española Choir (2007- 2010). He has worked as a guest conductor with choirs and orchestras such as the Spanish National Choir, the Swedish Radio Choir, the World Youth Choir (2010 and 2019) and the Radiotelevisión Española Orchestra among others. Since 2005, he has taught choir conducting at the Catalonia Music Highschool.
